Omer - Day 11

At twilight today, Monday, April 18th, a new day begins, the 11th  day of "counting the Omer"! Today marks one week and four days of counting.
During our countdown to Pentecost, a quick review of Romans 9-11 helps put God's plan for salvation into perspective.
Paul says salvation came to the Gentiles (non-Jews) to make the people of Israel jealous.  The inability of Israel to identify Yeshua (Jesus) as the messiah resulted in a great blessing for Gentiles: salvation! If Israel's inability to recognize the messiah resulted in such riches for Gentiles, their full inclusion will mean riches for the entire world (Romans 11:11-12)!
Thank you, Lord, for our Jewish brothers and sisters and the fulfillment of Your plan for them. Thank you for this eleventh day (one week and four days) of the countdown to Pentecost! Amen.
