At twilight today, Friday, April 21th, a new day begins, the 14th day of "counting the Omer"! Today marks two weeks of counting.
In today's busy world, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle of daily living and forget to rest. A quick look back at Genesis shows that when God created humans, he made them on the sixth day. Then he created the seventh day, the Sabbath (Shabbat), and rested. The first humans rested with Him. It is almost like the Almighty created Shabbat as a gift just for them. Remarkable (Mark 2:27). Tonight is the beginning of the weekly Sabbath.
PRAYER:
Thank you, Lord for giving us a day to rest! Thank you for this fourteenth day of counting the Omer. Thank you for two weeks of the countdown to Pentecost! Amen.
