Omer - Day 19

At twilight today, Wednesday, April 26th, a new day begins, the 19th  day of "counting the Omer". Today marks two weeks and five days of counting.

Reflecting on when the disciples realized that the man on the shore was Jesus in His resurrected body, it's no wonder Peter put on his robe and jumped in the water (John 21:7). He may have felt ashamed of denying Jesus earlier, but shame no longer had a place in his life. Peter was ready to take the leap, no matter the consequence, to get closer to his rabbi. Jesus is the only one who can dispel shame and take sin away. No matter your source of shame, he can take it farther away than the East is from the West (Psalm 103:12).

PRAYER:
Thank you, Lord, for wiping away our shame and calling us out of sin. On the ninteenth day (two weeks and five days) of counting the Omer, we bless You. Thank you for continuing to walk by our side through all seven weeks of the countdown to Pentecost! Amen.
