Omer - Day 4

At twilight today, Tuesday, April 11th, a new day begins. This is the start of the fourth day and the beginning of the barley harvest in Israel.

Knowing the times and seasons helps us gain a better understanding of Scripture. Take a look at the book of Ruth. At “the beginning of the barley harvest,” Ruth entered the Holy Land (Ruth 1:22).  Ruth was the great-grandmother of King David and a gentile (non-Jew) who bound herself to the God of Israel with unshakable commitment (Ruth 1:16b).

We are living at the "beginning of the barley harvest" now. Today, the Lord is looking for hearts willing to cling to Him with that same unshakable devotion as Ruth. He holds your future in his hands.

TODAY'S BLESSING
“May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge” (Ruth 2:12) Thank you, Lord, for this fourth day of counting. We bless You as we walk through all 49 days by Your side. Amen.
