At twilight today, Friday, May 5th, a new day begins, the 28th day of "counting the Omer". Today marks four weeks of counting. It's a day for second chances.
Just after twilight this evening, a second chance begins. This is "Pesach Shini", the "second Passover" for all who missed Passover a month ago. The day is doubly important this year as it falls on Shabbat, the last day of the week. If you're in need of a rest and a second chance, take advantage of this most opportune time to meet with the Lord.
PRAYER: Thank you, Lord, for loving so much you give us rest and a second chance. On the twenty-eighth day of counting the Omer, we bless You. Thank you for continuing to walk by our side through all seven weeks of the countdown to Pentecost! Amen.
