Omer - Day 48

At twilight today, Thursday, May 25th, a new day begins, the 48th day of "counting the Omer". Today marks six weeks and six days of counting.

For Orthodox Jews not living in Jerusalem, tonight marks the beginning of Pentecost/Shavuot. How can that be? The 48th day starts at twilight! One reason is because an extra day added for Jews living in the Diaspora (outside of Jerusalem). That way, no one could possibility miss the celebration. Hang tight and get ready to celebrate!

PRAYER: Thank You, Lord for the forty-eighth day of counting the Omer, we bless You. Thank you for continuing to walk by our side through all seven weeks of the countdown to Pentecost! Amen.
