At twilight today, Wednesday, April 12th, a new day begins. This is the start of the fifth day of "counting the Omer".
During Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, Jerusalem filled to the breaking point with hundreds of thousands of pilgrims from many countries. Among them were non-Jews, "Greeks", who watched sacrifices at the Temple from a distance. They stayed in the "court of the Gentiles" and were separated from Jewish worshipers (Ephesians 2:14).
With the death and resurrection of Jesus, God made a way for non-Jews to become grafted into the promises of the God of Israel. His blessing overflowed.
TODAY'S BLESSING
Thank you, Lord, for opening the way of salvation for all people. Thank You for Your overflowing love that includes us in Your covenants and promises. On this fifth day of counting, we bless You and continue to walk through all seven weeks by Your side. Amen.
